My Creative Process
Something that I have learned about my creative process is my tendency to underestimate the amount of time it takes to complete different tasks. As a result, I fell behind early and had to keep adapting my workplan throughout this project in order to make sure that I would have a finished final product by the end of it. Something that helped me cut down my workload is the concept of "killing your darlings" that we went over throughout this semester (Week 5). Many of my original ideas had to be changed or removed entirely, both to make the workload more manageable and to help refine my topic. I also applied this concept when trying to figure out what pieces I wanted to include for my exhibit. Originally I had planned to include many more examples and practice pieces, but eventually ended up picking ones that best represent what I am trying to convey.
